Mock Trial
Mock Trial Team is one of many clubs offered in the After School Alternative Program sponsored by NEW ADAGE, a teacher-created nonprofit "Youth Development Program," now in its twentieth year. In Mock Trial you will learn how our court system works. The culmination of the program will be a "mock" (pretend) trial conducted at the L.A. City Court building. Members will take the roles of judge, jury, prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, and other participants in a simulated trial.
You will be coached by LaTanya Hadnot, Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles. Mrs. Hadnot is a graduate of John Muir. Many of our former mock trial team members have gone on to top law schools like Yale, Cornell, and USC.
The "MOCK TRIAL TEAM " will begin its second term Tuesday, May 22, 2007, and will continue each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year. The Mock Trial Team will meet in Room 406 from 12:50 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. There is no cost for participation.
