John Muir Standards Letter (en Español) – What John Muir expects of its students and their parents (.pdf format).

Dress Code (en Español) – Muir is a "uniform" school. Students must wear white-collar shirts and black bottoms. Athletic wear is not allowed.

Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA)

Rita D. Walters Learning Complex – Provides classes for parents in smart money management, computer basics, job seeking skills, ESL, and Spanish. Classes in English and Spanish. All classes are free. Brochure. Services provided by the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department.

Scholarship Information – Your son or daughter can earn money for college while still at Muir!

Summer School Transition Program – Special program to help incoming 6th graders transition to middle school. Application (en Español). For more information contact the Intersession Office.

FAME Back-to-School Giveaway (en Español) – Every year FAME sponsors a Back-to-School giveway and health fair. Free school supplies. The Fair is scheduled in mid-September.

Off-Campus Child-care Programs

Off-campus summer and afterschool child-care programs – Van Ness Recreation Center has a free summer lunch program.

USC Head Start Free Preschool Childcare Program (en Español) – Five locations. For children 3-5.

Student Health Insurance – Information about low-cost health insurance available for Muir students and their immediate families.
